Bay FM interview on Addiction and how Medimove Exercise Physiology can help
I have been in a whirlwind and forgot to share this awesome interview with you.
Late last year I was invited on the Belly Addict radio show on Bay fm. This show is packed full of inspiring, informative and addictive content. I share some wisdom and knowledge around addictive behaviours, and how Medimove Exercise Physiology help people overcome this.
What’s even more interesting is for the past 7 weeks I have been completely alcohol free. As a lot of us experience, alcohol is often the catalyst for a number of other addictions.
Addiction doesn’t’ just mean addiction to drugs and alcohol. Addiction can show up in sex, drama, sugar, emotional habits, food, relationships, exercise etc. Addiction is sneaky and its often too late before you realise you have relapsed.
It was the silly season, the festive season, ya know the Christmas period. Chrismas time can be a sad time for me regardless, but this time I was going through a breakup, and triggered with all the family questions at Christmas time….’so are your seeing any one?’, ‘are you going to think about children soon?’
All those societal projected questions we get asked when we may be outside of the norm.
These are often hard to hear, and it sent me spiralling. I went on into party mode, where I was staying out late, and operating on minimal food and sleep.
My justification was its new year’s, everyone is doing it…because when you’re in the sneaky hands of addiction, a week can go by before you notice you’ve relapsed.
After all I am human, and rather than place myself on a pedestal, I am real with you.
It takes a constant commitment with yourself to honour your needs, emotions and boundaries if you’ve suffered from addiction. It’s a never ending journey of courage and a willingness to grow and forgive yourself.
No one is perfect.
But… when you fall off the wagon, reach out for help and be prepared to take bold action!
Listen to my interview here and get some perspective around those that appear to have it all together, and how even they can fall off the wagon.
I advocate this work, and I am living breathing example that it works. My method works, and I can say these last 7 weeks have been the most rewarding and transformational I’ve ever experienced. My goal is to reach 90 days, which in all honesty is feeling so achievable I’ve decided to make it a lifetime commitment, aside from the odd special occasion.
I’ve never set a goal for myself this big, because I didn’t think it was necessary… but the emotional trauma I witnessed in myself over the festive season deserved acknowledgment, and big action. After all, I didn’t follow my own guidance, it’s not real!
When I realised alcohol was the catalyst for everything else spiralling out of alignment, I knew that was the action I needed to take.
Identifying your catalyst, isn’t easy, but that’s what I can help you achieve.
If this resonated with you, and you are experiencing a similar journey in your life. Now is the time to take action. Book a call an appointment with me now and let’s begin your transformation!
